Are you putting your potential in the grave?

Well everyone its one day away from the holiday party weekend!  So what are we celebrating on this holiday weekend?  Some of us are celebrating the fact that we get to get a day away from a job we truly hate and wish that we weren’t in and some are celebrating America and the fact that we are free and independent in the world.  Yes people, some of us are celebrating a temporary reprieve from slavery and other are celebrating their true freedom from all other outside pressure.  I want to read some thing to you all again and it is by a gentleman in the Houston area named Joel Osteen.  He has a chapter in his book called “discovering Destiny” , you have to know that he is a preacher so there is a lot of religious stuff wrapped into his work so if that is not your thing please stick it out and look for the message I am focusing on.  Joel says:

“Why do so many people today feel unfulfilled in their lives, merely going to work at some mundane job trying to earn a living stuck in a career they don’t even like?  The answer is simple.  They are not pursuing the dreams and desires that God has placed in their hearts.  If we are not moving towards our God given destiny, than tension and dissatisfaction will always exist in our inner being.  It won’t go away with time; it will be there as long as you live.  I can not think of anything more tragic than coming to the end of your life and realizing that you have not really lived; that you have not come a part of what your creator had in mind for you. You have simply lived an average and mediocre life. You have gotten by but you have lived without passion or enthusiasm. Allowing your inner potential to lie dormant and untapped.  I heard someone say that the wealthiest place on Earth is not Ft. Knox, the oil fields of the Middle East, or the gold and diamond mines of South Africa, I have heard it said that the wealthiest places on Earth are the cemeteries because lying in those graves are all kinds of dreams and desires that will never be fulfilled.  Buried beneath the ground are books that will never be written, businesses that will never be started and relationships that will never be formed.  Sadly the incredible potential is lying in those graves.”

What a powerful quote from his new book “Becoming a Better You”.  My friends think about that quote.  Isn’t that what it is really all about?  Now the reason I am talking about this and am extremely happy is because every day is a holiday for me.  I really am not telling you that to impress you but to impress upon you that you could have a life like mine too.  I have been doing my financial statements for my apartments for this last month of June and I found out that I have record sales all the way across the board, record collections across the board, and record occupancies across the board, people we are blowing up.

This industry is all over the place just like I told you a year ago.  The value of my properties has gone up millions and the only thing I have been doing is collecting income checks from them every month.  I do not go there, I do not work there and I have staff that works there for me.  Again, I am not trying to impress you, I want to show you that this is something you could be doing yourself!  Many members of Lifestyles are enjoying insane benefits right now whether they are operating the places themselves or using a team of people to help them run the place.

Why are you not doing this right now?  Why do you keep working that job that you refuse to wake up for every morning?  Why do you think the stock market is going to save you?  Why do you still believe that your 401k is going to be able to hold you through your retirement years?  Why are you choosing to work for the rest of your life when you really don’t have to?  Tell me why, tell me why, please tell me why!  I really do not understand it.  The opportunities are all around you and real estate is in such abundance that it is screaming at you to take it.  All you have to do is get started, plan something, make a set of goals and take the first single step toward those goals!  How do you eat an elephant?  One bite at a time!  Every self help book is telling you that and it’s all true!  All you have to do to jump into this plethora of money making opportunities is to take that first step.

I am looking up the DOW Jones average right now, not because I WANT to run it into the ground, and I want you to know that the Dow closed at 11,288…do you realize that in the year 2000 it was 11,600?  Do you understand that in eight years your investments have gone backwards?  I know some of you are pulling all those tricks in the market and going wild but think about how much time that takes.  Also realize just how much risk you are taking on to yourself when you are doing all of this.  Think about this too, buy a house for 50,000 dollars below market value, you stick a good tenant in it and you get a check every month from them.  Holy cow!  So much easier than playing around in the market.  The steps we take are easy!

1—Buy a house
2—Make it livable
3—Put a perfect tenant in the house
4—Collect rent checks every month

That is all we do.  At the core it is a super simple process and you all need to realize it.  Get started, move forward and realize that this is the United States of America, the greatest country in the world to accumulate your wealth.  It is the only country that does not tax away your huge amounts of wealth too!  Do you want to go to your grave knowing that the best of life in you was wasted and you could have tried and succeeded in your dreams?
